The pre-order beta will run the weekend of March 17-18 which will then be followed by an open beta test for the general public the week after on March 24-26. In what might just be the weirdest video game marketing promotion I’ve seen to date, Blizzard has partnered with KFC to give away free beta keys with the purchase of a Double Down Sandwich or a Kentucky Fried Chicken Sandwich via the KFC app or KFC.com.įor those who’ve never heard of the Double Down, it’s “a bun-less sandwich with two of KFC’s Extra Crispy, 100 percent white meat filets, two slices of cheese, and two pieces of crispy, hickory-smoked bacon, with either the Colonel’s Mayo or spicy sauce,” while the Chicken Sandwich is “an all-white meat, double-breaded, Extra Crispy chicken breast filet, freshly toasted buttery brioche bun, thick, crispy pickles, and the Colonel’s real mayo or spicy sauce,” both of which are available in classic and spicy. Blizzard is giving Diablo 4 fans an alternative way of getting into next weekend’s pre-order beta test without the need to pre-order the game.
